COVID-19 vaccination and fertility treatment

At Westmead Fertility Centre, we are very supportive of the COVID-19 vaccination program as a way of protecting and caring for our community.  The expert body, the Australian and New Zealand Society of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (ANZREI) has released advice (12 February 2021) for those considering the COVID-19 vaccine and undergoing fertility treatment.  This advice can be discussed further with your doctor when considering your particular situation. See https://anzsrei.com/covid-vaccine-and-fertility/

Just as we have all been so committed to the adoption of the precautions such as physical distancing, hand hygiene and masks – now we must aim for high rates of vaccination across the community if we hope to overcome this virus. The vaccination of our team at Westmead Fertility Centre has now commenced and we could not be happier.

About Westmead Fertility Centre

With one in six couples now having difficulty conceiving, we knew we needed to do things differently at Westmead Fertility Centre. Because we are 100 percent owned by the University of Sydney, we are free to tackle the growing issue of infertility in ways that shareholder-owned clinics cannot. That’s why our centre operates as a social enterprise. The main goal of our organisation is to assist more people to realise their dream of becoming a parent by:

  • Providing affordable access to high-quality fertility treatments underpinned by the latest effective research and innovations
  • Providing a smooth and hassle-free experience through best practice processes
  • Reinvesting our operating surpluses back into our laboratory and clinical services, and into research to address issues at the core of fertility problems.
